ST PETER'S C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL & PRE-SCHOOL

Online Safety

Our pupils are growing up in a world of ever-changing technology. While we believe that technology offers many positive aspects of modern life, we must also acknowledge the associated risks.

At our school, we aim to teach children the following:

  • Understanding Cyberbullying: Recognizing the impact of cyberbullying and knowing how to seek help if they are affected.
  • Online Vigilance: Being cautious when communicating online, understanding that not everyone is who they claim to be, and being sensible about what they share.
  • Reporting Concerns: Encouraging them to speak to a trusted adult if something is upsetting them.
  • Evaluating Information: Questioning the reliability of information from web-based sources.
  • Responsible Searching: Learning to search responsibly for information using internet browsers.

We understand how challenging it can be to guide our children through the complexities of staying safe online, especially with how quickly things change. To support you in this effort, we will be sharing a monthly Online Safety newsletter packed with valuable advice and information. This resource aims to keep you informed and equipped to help your child navigate the online world safely.
