St. Peter’s Church of England (VC) Primary School is pleased to have close links with the Parish Church of St. Peter ad Vincula.
Rev Heike Prentice was installed as the Vicar of the Benefice, which includes St. Peter’s Church, in May 2021, and intends to be part of the school church community.
“Open the Bible” is an initiative from the churches of Coggeshall working together, offering a weekly dramatized Bible story as part of the collective worship. This project commenced in 2013 and continues to be popular with the pupils.
Our Christian Youth Worker is also a regular visitor to the school.
This reflects the Diocesan focus on the developing role of lay people in all aspects of Church life and ministry, and has allowed for the greater involvement of more people from local Churches with the school.
When possible, the whole school, along with parents and school governors, is welcomed into St. Peter’s church on various occasions during the year such as Harvest Festival, Christmas, Easter and Leavers Service, to join together in an act of collective worship, led by the school, in thanks and celebration.
