Welcome to the St Peter's Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School website. As the Headteacher, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all who visit our site.
St Peter's is a maintained primary school serving children aged 2 to 11. With a rich history and strong ties to the community, we are committed to providing a high-quality education grounded in our core Christian values. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to create engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity and personal growth.
We are extremely proud of the children and adults that form part of our aspirational and inclusive school community. Our high expectations enable children to make exceptional progress, regardless of their starting point or individual needs. Wellbeing and happiness are given high priority here at St Peter’s, both for children and adults alike! We aim to empower every child to make a positive contribution to the society in which they live, to advocate courageously for others, and to thrive in the fast-changing world in which they live.
The school is set in extensive grounds which allows for a range of PE and outdoor learning opportunities, including our own Forest School area. In addition to a rich and ambitious curriculum, we offer a range of extracurricular activities and learning opportunities throughout the school day. Our Ofsted report (March 2023) found that ‘children develop mature, positive attitudes to learning and achieve well’ and that our children ‘value learning in their calm and focused lessons'.
In keeping with the ‘community feel’ of our school, we have an exceptionally talented and supportive Governing Body as well as a highly active, successful PTA – Friends of St Peter's (FOSP). Parent and community relationships are pivotal in the success of any school and we are keen to work with parents and the local community for the benefit of all.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed – please contact the school office for further information.
